This video shows how Porfirio DIaz implemented the order to have progress. Mexico was growing and the construction of raildroads lead to Mexico to expand and have a better lifestyle. Diaz was a good president, I liked the video becuase it was short, but very informative.
He was a good "President" for some, and you can make a good argument that he was overall good for Mexico. But don't forget he was also a dictator, not that, that was anything unusual during that period of Latin American history.
This video was short and to the point. I've always been fascinated by the railroad system, how back in the day they did not have the technology we have today, yet they could build such an intricate system.
I agree with the comment made by Dr. Albro in this documentary. He said that a country must have order, in order to have progress. He also mentions the bad administration of justice in Mexico, and how there was a separation of the justice system from the rest of the government. It is curious to see that history repeats it self because Mexico today is one of the most dangerous country's in Latin America all mostly due to bad administration of government.
Even as a dictator he seemed to help in the advancement of Mexico. The country was finally modernizing by construction of railroads, continuing trade, telegraphs spreading, and the progression of communities. There just has to be improvement in the government's administration...
