This video shows how Porfirio DIaz implemented the order to have progress. Mexico was growing and the construction of raildroads lead to Mexico to expand and have a better lifestyle. Diaz was a good president, I liked the video becuase it was short, but very informative.

He was a good "President" for some, and you can make a good argument that he was overall good for Mexico. But don't forget he was also a dictator, not that, that was anything unusual during that period of Latin American history.

The video shows a good example of things we have been learning in class. I noticed that they mention the church playing a big role in the community.

This video was short and to the point. I've always been fascinated by the railroad system, how back in the day they did not have the technology we have today, yet they could build such an intricate system.

I agree with the comment made by Dr. Albro in this documentary. He said that a country must have order, in order to have progress. He also mentions the bad administration of justice in Mexico, and how there was a separation of the justice system from the rest of the government. It is curious to see that history repeats it self because Mexico today is one of the most dangerous country's in Latin America all mostly due to bad administration of government.

I always find it interesting how many countries can stagger behind other countries but are still able to amaze people when it comes to what they have accomplished. When mexico built these railroads they lacked social and cultural skills that other countries had but they were still able to build this extensive railroad system. I like how the video touched on the inequality that the citizens of this country felt, especially the Indians and the middle class. Although the video was short, it still gave enough information to make it pretty informative.

It's crazy how railroads were so revolutionary but now are being forgotten... most people travel by plane or car now!

Short and straight to the point. Overall, I think Porfirio Diaz was a above average president. The railroads was a big revolutionary movement in that time.

I think that during the era of Porfirio Diaz , he did some good some bad, but overall i think that he was a good predisdent and the railroads helped a lot during that time.

This film was really interesting to me. Do you guys know that revolutionaries called Porfirio a villain while the Business community saw him more like a hero to them.

Even as a dictator he seemed to help in the advancement of Mexico. The country was finally modernizing by construction of railroads, continuing trade, telegraphs spreading, and the progression of communities. There just has to be improvement in the government's administration...
