Shamanism

(Left: the Shaman Mestigoit, from the film Black Robe).

Shamans: A distinct class of religious specialist found among Native Americans, Eskimos, and the tribes of south and Southeast Asia. They undergo strenuous initiations by which they gain control over the spirits and are able to use them in healing and in flights to the spirit world.

I am Mestigoit

I loved this movie. Black Robe showed the whole process of how cultural understanding was achieved between the priest and the Algonquins. In the end the priest and the chief were friends. Great movie!

Huh, I always thought of Shamans as wiser than this but...hmm... Not quite sure what to make of this.

I'm not sure if to laugh or cry! I did not understand the little man... LOL Why did the priest left? LOL

It was really weird to see a shaman interact with a priest. Although it was hard to understand the midget, I found it funny and interesting
