I loved this movie. Black Robe showed the whole process of how cultural understanding was achieved between the priest and the Algonquins. In the end the priest and the chief were friends. Great movie!
Very interesting video ! It is the first time that I see a Catholic priest and a shaman interacting.
Talk about shamans is something that has always seemed very interesting. The reason is because it is a subject uncommon, and somewhat taboo in the Catholic religion. To start, shamans have the stereotype of beign diabolical because according to some people, they practice black magic. However, I think that in the past they played a very big role with respect to native religions.
Until this day we could see people who believe in them; however, in my case I think that is only superstition.
Ahaha! That was funny. I hadn't realized that he was a midget till I saw a wide shot of the man. Anyway, this was very realistic in how I could see an Indian Shaman reacting towards a Catholic missionary. On the other hand, I wouldn't have thought the missionary would have been as tolerate but then again this is a movie so that was probably the artistic license at work.
Huh, I always thought of Shamans as wiser than this but...hmm... Not quite sure what to make of this.
I'm not sure if to laugh or cry! I did not understand the little man... LOL Why did the priest left? LOL
HAHA! Ive never seen this movie but it looks very interesting. And if it has this humor throughout the movie, I'll watch it
This video was super funny! Judging by the cover I was hesitant to watch, but I loved the part at the end where everyone just comes together, and the missionary is so accepting to him.
It was really weird to see a shaman interact with a priest. Although it was hard to understand the midget, I found it funny and interesting
