Now, if there were so many people in that one area, why couldn't all of them together try to push the door with force so they could break through and escape? Also, how did Fannie Lansner managed to save several people (as it's said on the video at 3:53) when technically everyone didn't survive?
oh by the way this is Bianca G., not sure why it gave me that username (T^T)
This video really made me think.
This reminds me of 911. Very sad that it occurred.
A truly unfortunate tragedy, so many lives cut short. All because the owners did not want to let union reps in. I agree with Amanda Setney...too familiar to 9/11.

Very tragic how all those live were lost due to a locked door
It's crazy how history forgets. Hopefully it doesn't repeat itself though.
So sad, and tragic. I hope they are able to recover all of the names, and perhaps rededicate a new engraving.

It's always sad that it takes tragedy for people to act on behalf of the betterment of everyone
It is so sad how workers were waiting to get their pay and never made it out.
We will never know who dropped that match, but it was no accident because some doors were even locked. As it also reminded me somewhat of 9/11 and how people would jump out of the building and how all of New York was grieving for this horrific event.
Such a tragedy that this occurred to these innocent women just as they were expecting to go home from work for the day.
