The 2009 Annual Meeting will be held January 2–5, 2009 in New York City with events scheduled in the Hilton New York (headquarters) and Sheraton New York (co-headquarters).
Registration begins in mid-September 08.

LASA 2009 in Rio
hi friends,
The information for LASA (Latin American Studies Association) just came out for Rio de Janeiro in June 2009. I am planning on going and I hope other history students will as well. Below is the information. The paper proposals are due by March 28.
The LASA Secretariat is now accepting paper proposals for LASA2009 in Rio de Janeiro. The congress will take place from June 11 -14, 2009 and promises to be as exciting as ever with the engaging theme Rethinking Inequalities.
Please act quickly because the deadline for submitting paper proposals is March 28, 2008. Those interested in submitting their paper proposal may do so online at
