Abstract and App due: February 8, 2008.
Cash awards for the top three papers. The competition is open to all disciplines. Papers must address topics relevant to the Latin American and Caribbean region. Papers will be presented in panels arranged around common themes. papers will be accepted in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Haitian Creole.
Each participant will have 10 minutes to present.
Final papers should be approximately 15-25 double spaced pages and submitted electronically to: aplacio@fau.edu and umclas@miami.edu

Last year the History department at FIU won first and second place in this competition. It is also a great way to network with students from UM and FAU and find out who is doing what.
