PAT Conference at University of Florida - April 18 & 19th

Dear Phi Alpha Theta Advisor,

Our school's Gamma-Eta chapter will be hosting the next Regional Meeting for the Florida region of Phi Alpha Theta. The conference will be held on Friday and
Saturday, April 18th and 19th. It will be in Keene-Flint and the newly built Pugh Hall, both of which are in the heart of the historic district of the University of Florida campus.

The deadline for submission of paper abstracts is March 1st.

Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words, and they can be submitted by snail or electronic mail. We will be informing participants about the status of their submissions no later than March 15th. We are requesting final papers to be submitted by April 1st.

Papers should be no more than 10 to 12 double-spaced typewritten pages to be read in a maximum of 20-25 minutes, and there should be a brief autobiography attached to each submission. Only Phi Alpha Theta student members are eligible to submit papers. Awards will be given for the best undergraduate and graduate papers.

Please encourage your students to present papers at the conference. In addition, I hope you may be willing to volunteer your services as either a session chair or session evaluator (judge).

If so, please contact us.
There will be a cost of $25 per accepted paper checks made payable to Phi Alpha Theta. In addition, we encourage you to bring members who are not submitting papers, for there will be no cost for them to attend the conference. We have tentatively scheduled former Florida Senator Bob Graham as the keynote speaker on Friday evening of the 18th.

Moreover,
we will be providing coffee and finger foods Friday night and a continental breakfast Saturday morning. I look forward to hearing from you and your students. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 352-392-0271 ext. 254, nolls@ufl.edu, or stevno3@aol.com. We will be sending more information with specific details at a later date, but if participants have questions about travel arrangements or lodging, please contact me.

However, our department homepage, www.history.ufl.edu, has nice links to campus maps and places of interest in Gainesville.

Send abstract submissions to me by email or to:
