After a few years as a student of different institutions and in different countries I have to disagree with the study group hint. Not only my personal experience, but my formation as a psychologist back home and as psychologist to be here as well, lead me to disapproval. Studies have shown a correlation between studying in groups and low productivity when compared to individuals studying independently. However, I have to recognize that as with everything in science, this is not fatal and the level of success students might achieve could also depend on the style of preference.

Great video! Very insightful tips that are always good to hear again and to always keep in mind during college. The multitasking part was especially true. I would have problems before thinking i would be able to catch up on a show or keep updated on my Facebook while having to do different homework assignments, even trying to do 2 assignments at the same time! In reality it would just slow me down to an unnecessarily slow pace. Only after did i realize how much more efficient it is to just stay concentrated on one thing you have to do and have a to-do list for goals you want to achieve next.

This video was very interesting to watch! I agree that being prepared is probably the most important thing to do because this way you can make connections and understand the material more in depth. Rather than taking in all the material for the first time. During my time in college I have found that reading the chapters beforehand really have helped me retain the information better. However, I do disagree with the study groups tip. Like Dennis Estrada mentioned above, they are not always the most effective. While it does depend on which method works best for you, in my experience groups tend to wonder off more or just some of the people in the group do more than others. I consider study groups to be effective only if you really find people willing to work and use the time efficiently.

Very good tips to succeed in college. I'd also add management of time as one powerful tool. Many students are full-time in both college and work life like me. Planning ahead is always a positive thing. It has worked for me so far. Don't procrastinate. This is one of our traits as millennials, but not a good one. If you don't do your assignments on time, you'll feel stressed out and your work will lack quality. Online resources are there too, but learn how to use them wisely. Google scholar is a good source when you write an essay for instance; regular google not so much. Learn how to differentiate between a scholar's work and an opinion or random article. It's much better to cite the source, even if it's not an accurate one rather than copy paste other people's materials. Never do that! It's considered plagiarism. It goes against the student code of conduct. Overall, take advice from others and at the same time create your own routine or techniques on how to succeed in college.

The information in this video is very helpful. For the first hint, which is coming prepared for class is something I have experienced over and over. When I do not read before class, I am very lost, compared as to when I do read. I also believe that there are many more tips that can be used to succeed in college. But these 5 are very important when transitioning from high school to college. I especially like tip number 4, which is to be positive. Whenever I feel upset or just don't feel like doing any work, I get nothing done. My chemistry professor used to always tell us to have when taking the test because it doesn't make it seem so hard and he was right.

Pretty obvious information for students that have been through middle school and high school. The main thing that can guarantee us success in college is continuous motivation to learn and listen to other people.

So far this has been my favorite video because I can relate to it so easily. Coming to class is a BIG must that a lot of college students don't realize can be detrimental to their grade if they don't go. Especially if it's a subject that you need a teacher in person to show you how it's done. Another thing that people don't realize is key to being successful in school is having a positive attitude. If you come into class thinking that you're going to fail a test, well then most likely you're going to fail the test. Lastly, cancelling out all distractions is also another important factor for being successful in school. Having twitter and Instagram open isn't going to help you studying or finish your assignment.

These are great tips to follow as a college student in order to be successful. These are qualities every student should learn. Being organized, determined, and hard-working are qualities that I believe every student should have.

I agree with the points about group work above. I also think that being connected with other students is huge factor in college success. Sometimes you learn things or find about things you would not have otherwise known about.

I honestly thought I wasn't going to make it through college when I first got in... You do need these steps shown on this video because if not you'll lose motivation and grow love for money and most likely drop out of college.
